Belle Vie Ad Campaign 2012/13

The Belle Vie Ad campaign was shot in Cape Town, at one of the worlds most beautiful universities, UCT. I had the amazing opportunity to be part of this project, taking photographs and organising the beautiful female models and crew... I love playing field producer! It was a pleasure to work with the Danish/German designer, Tobias Meisner of Belle Vie. Belle Vie, creates a few of each item to cater for those who prefer an individualised and unique preppy look. If you like brands like GANT, Ralph Lauren and POLO, then Belle Vie is perfect for you, with there detailed finish and minimalistic classic items. The clothing was well suited with UCT's green ivy, stone pillars and Jameson steps...

The clothing was proudly manufactured locally in Cape Town, each range has been made in a different country, which is one of Belle Vie's unique characteristics. What makes this collection very special is that it is the introduction of their first female collection, ladies get excited!!!

Women Problems

Women have fragile hearts and in the age of Independent Woman, being needy is not sexy! What is sexy? Confidence, Independence and keeping him on his toes, so that he keeps running after you... I guess with New Age Men, there is a need to be a twenty-first century woman! Regardless of who you are, when you fall in love, what obstacles you face, at some point we all face the same challenges. These are problems, we laugh about when we relate with other women's stories, because at times it feels like we are listening to ourselves. These problems, are merely challenges to overcome and grow from.  It is okay to allow yourself to be needy and vulnerable, but its also necessary to be considerate and put yourself in his shoes.

Regarding keeping him on his toes, sometimes you should just let go and allow him to lead. The truth about independent women, is that we love to take control of the situation but there are times you just need to relax your beautiful self and take the back seat. He is perfectly capable of opening the door, and finding a restaurant to wine and dine you. However, you don't have to wait around forever, if you want something just go get it. With that said said don't be too hasty and allow him to have the opportunity to surprise you. In the meantime just enjoy the beauty around you, by finding love in ordinary things...
we all know who really is the Boss

every girl needs an LBD

The moment Audrey Hepburn appeared on the silver screen in Givenchy’s Little Black Dress, fashion history was made. The classic LBD became a romantic staple for girls all over the world. Cape Town, party season has arrived, and every girl needs an LBD to add to their wardrobe as a MUST have. Even Barbie has her own LBD Collection. As a Barbie collector, I felt a little jealous that Barbie has so many designer options to choose from. When I look into my cupboard, I feel like I have nothing to wear. I guess it is just that general feeling that most women have.
These stylish Barbies have an array of cute dresses, paired with  trendy heels, haircuts and jewelry. These twelve styles dolls, with their classic dresses can be customised with chic accessories, such as scarves and jewellery. There are always extras with Barbie, how I wish I could still build doll houses and dress my Barbies up, the joys of childhood!
Barbie is the worlds luckiest girl with a closet full of LBDs, designed by 12 of the world’s top designers. Designers include Deborah Lloyd (Kate Spade), Isaac MizrahiRachel RoyTory BurchAlexis BittarBetsey JohnsonDevi KroellJustin Giunta (Subversive), and Monica BotkierBarbie has always been an icon, manufactured to portray the ideal of femininity. She has become a goddess in the Fashion world, influencing cosmetic adds and breaking derogatory stereotypes of woman. Barbie has come along way since her first appearance in 1959, in her black and white, zebra print swimsuit. That swimsuit would actually be very fashionable today, I would not mind one for Summer. You can check the first Barbie and Barbie Advert made at the below link:
Barbie has always been an icon of style and femininity, she has inspired many young women. She has become a multicultural and cosmopolitan phenomenon, with her varying hairstyles, skin tones and outfits, appealing to many different kinds of people. Most importantly Barbie has always been a friend to many little girls. I hope Barbie, every girl’s favourite doll continues to inspire and if you do not have a LBD, it's by time you get one. Find your perfect LBD, that is stylish and makes you feel like your sparkling. I have a little confession, I have more then eight LBDs but I am still looking for the perfect one...

Class is Permanent, form is Temporary

Women and men have debated for centuries, to determine which gender is a better designer. Some of the worlds biggest fashion houses are all led by male designers. However this debate is not the issue at hand, as a lover of MENS FASHION from shoes to bow ties and well fitted details- I think its time to pay a little attention to the finer things in life.  A well put together man, who has confidence always appears irresistible. Coco Chanel said that, "Fashion fades, only style remains the same". Therefore it is necessary to determine whether it is merely a fad and to take note on his off days. It is the small details that make the man, as form is merely temporary but class is permanent. A man that dresses well and pays attention to detail in his appearance, will do the same in his life, work and the way he treats you, there are exceptions to the rule. Whatever type of man you prefer, if he can look good in a suit then that's a bonus but remember Class is Permanent and form is temporary.

Mens fashion may be epitomised by James Bond, and the continuous portrayals of the classic man by celebrities like Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig influencing fashion trends and style, with each new James Bond eraDetails such as his haircut, the way he wears his watch or cufflinks, his shoes and general presentation are all the little things that define a classy man from one that is posing with material things. Money may buy those finer things but without style or class those things are just material. It is that certain type of man that can make anything look good, it is just the way he is... An iconic style in mens fashion, is Scott Disick, who once said the most essential piece of your wardrobe are shoes, "As a component of an outfit, shoes can really be the critical item that turns an average choice in menswear into something amazing." He clearly understands the importance of detail, which can be seen in LORD Disicks array of stylish outfits below.

Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass embodies impeccable style. His suave posture, slim cut suits, unique colour choices make for the perfect MODERN gentlemen.

Celebrities, such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, David Beckham-who might look even better without clothing, Orlando Bloom, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jon Hamm, carry anything with great style, thus there sense of fashion speaks for itself. The lawyer in me just loves Gabriel Macht, who stars as Harvey Spector from Suits, he is New York’s best-dressed legal closer. Fictional characters and celebrities are trend setters, influenced by the ever changing nature of fashion. Fashion fades and only style remains the same. A man with class can be seen from a mile a way because he embodies style and a poser, will eventually be caught out as his form is merely temporary.
Class is Permanent, form is temporary-TM RJ

hopeless Romantic

Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale! As a hopeless romantic at heart, I still believe in fairytales... where dancing, magic carpets and romantic kisses happen magically in the moonlight. Where every princess finds her prince, Kate Middleton is a perfect example.  All fairytales take time, so there is no need to rush from one frog to another. Just keep believing that you will find your Prince Charming because the happy ending only happen on the last page.

Love is perseverance, it is unconditional and timeless... As a modern woman having patience doesn't mean you have to wait around for magic, make your own and make the first move. Jane from Tarzan, is a clear example of how sometimes it is necessary to make the first move. If it is Prince Charming that you are looking for, it is important to remember that everyone has imperfections. Love is finding those imperfections to be perfection. Every day a fairytale can be made, where REAL MEN...
In the End they found each other and lived Happily ever After...

Kendall Jenner VOGUE

Vogue at just 17! The cover girl can be described as sleek and chic in Miss Vogue Australiaa new feature of Vogue AustraliaI believe beauty should be appreciated and  Kendall embodies the style of Miss Vogue, with a fusion of high fashion and street style. I feel a little obsessed with this breathtaking beauty style. The Kardashian family, seems to feel the same with Kourtney K tweeted, "I AM OBSESSED WITH YOU KENDALL! WOW. Breathtaking." Kim K blogging, "Can't get over how incredible Kendall looks in this month's Miss Vogue magazine in Australia!!" and "Kendall's legs... I'm jealous!" Jenner shows off her lovely long legs, in a pair of black hot pants, leather jacket and a velvet shirt (below). She is ready for any catwalk, I can understand why Kim has  a bit of jealousy for her little sister.
Jenner is not just the Kardashians little sister, she is the face of White Sands swimsuit line, FLAVOR magazine and has covered Teen Vogue with her younger sister, Kylie. She has also been on the runway at Fashion Week for designer Sherri Hill.Kendall posed below in a timeless, black sheer hat, backless long-sleeved black midi-dress and striking black heeled shoes, embodying the classic and elegant Vogue woman. I am sure this is just the beginning so watch out world here she comes....
